I think you did a very good job for tying it yourself (right?), however I think this musubi should be slightly tilted to one side, otherwise it looks like a regular hanhaba obi.
I am not quite sure what to recommend to fix it tho, because when I tried to tie it, it turned out tilted on it's own. But I was tying it on someone else so I think that's the reason.
Yes, I did tie it myself for the most part eric helped me but in the towel and tied the ribbion to hold it in place so I could wrap the rest of the obi around the bow. I did try to tilt it but it would not stay. >< I had a feeling it looked like a butterfly bow for cotton kimono. I'm hoping I can try it on one of my friends so I can get the feel for dressing someone else in kimono. I hope it's easier.
