Wow I need to wear kimono more!

>< sigh, sadly even the kimono book I have didn't help me catch all my misstakes! I had the kimono on and then I look down and I was like opps I crossed the wrong side! I had did everything right over left and not left over right. I was a dead woman >< so I had to redo the top layer only because I had been fighting with the juban collar for 30 minutes and the thought of undoing it drove me crazy. My first attempt to tie my obi was god awful, the second attempt was better but still needed work. My obi-age and obi-jime is just sad....
I need to practice more. Oh, and my lovely sisster inlaw to be almost luaghed in my face when she saw me in kimono.... ugh I wish I had my own place (currently living with Eric and his family due to the fact that my mother is a psycho)....

  1. Don't be so hard on yourself. Really, the only remedy for bad kitsuke days is practice, practice and practice. :( You should have seen some of my first attempts! I'm not posting them online for a reason haha! :)

  2. Very, true I do need to stop being hard on myself so much. Curse my perfectionist ways! I have the problem that no one but Eric supports my kimono love and when they see me practice or but them on they make fun of me. >< UGH unsupporting family....

  3. Come on!don't be so hard with yourself! You just need to practice. Why you don't try to dress somebody else first, with the kitsuke book or instructions, with, step by step i'm sure you will improve your skills ;)! If you have curves as i am, padding is a great ally, it makes easier to dress. Well, greetings from spain.
