Fanime 2010 kimono madness

I had a blast! Fanime 2010 was so much fun. I hope kimono mono didn't mind me helping her a little bit with her panel. I just couldn't help it I really wanted to help the girls in the audience because it was the fake it make it panel. Also, I couldn't help but mention ebay (i'm sorry kimono mono). I fell in love with one of her kimono but it was way out of my price range! but I did buy a new pair of zori that match my red furisode to perfection! They where decently priced at $40 and the only thing I was willing to spend that kind of money on. i couldn't stay in kimono for too long I started to over heat and my feet where killing me. I also had trouble dressing nataly and Tanya their kimono would not stay the length I tied it at. Maybe i was too worried about hurting them to tie it too tight and they are very small wasted.
I also got really inspired to do my own kimono panel next year if kimono mono does not show up. I also enjoyed bento 101 and want to learn how to make my own. Maybe an excuse to wear kimono and have a picnic....

I wish I had bought this kimono and obi! But I had to go to work and wasn't able to bid on them before the autions ended.

Obi possiabilites

Option one I love the problem is the price it's way too expensive!
Option two is more affordable but i'm not 100% sold on it.
I want a new obi for my red furisode.

Tanya's kimono dress up

Today was my friend Tanya's turn to be dressed up in kimono. Any pontiers would be nice. She did enjoy the kimono and understood why I Like kimono so much. I did have a problem with dressing her because the length would not stay when I tied it.

Obi-age and obi-jime happiness

For right now I'll only be able to provide pictures of the kimonos with the obi-age and obi-jime. To show that it goes with both kimono yay! Sadly my next day off is Friday so maybe then I'll be able to practice and dress me or one of my friends yay!

Yay I had some more practice! with dressing others

Today was my friend Heather's Birth Day so I dressed her up in kimono. It was my first time dressing someone that was not me. It was easier but I forgot to do a lot of things because I was trying to remmber it all. And yes I could not tie a fancier tie off the top of my head and didn't want to dress her for hours (she often over heats). Pointers are welcome!

2nd day pratice

This time I used my fukuro obi. I had to go online becausde my kimono book was not helpful when it came to fancy ties....
Any pointers would be nice.
